TIANYAN
- The Five-Hundred-Metre Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) is world’s biggest telescope situated in China.
- The telescope was built in 2016 and made its first discovery of two pulsars in August 2017.
- It has a dynamic surface which can be adjusted for the required foci.
- This technology has a dish of diameter 500m and is the biggest radio telescope constructed on a natural sinkhole.
- Among other aims FAST is also searching for extraterrestrial radio signals which will help us to detect their presence.
